I turn 17 in a week and 2 days. Can i sign papers for the Army?

Okay so i've been planning on joining the Army for a while and i turn 17 in a week and 2 days. Can i go down to the recruitment station and start talking to a recruiter or is that not possible? Any info would be helpful
