Whats going on with my brother?

last year when my brother was 7, he was great at baseball. he was the MVP of his all start team. he got a hit every time, he was the catcher and he tagged 6 guys out at home plate, and he led his team to state. this year, he wasnt that good. he hit alot of popups, and his team didnt even make it to state. they had a triple header and won 1 out of 3 games. losing 2 games eliminated them. why is my brother not that good anymore?
