Could you suggest a pet?

Ok...So in one month we are going to buy an animal. My parents are the one with the money, so they decide, I can only suggest what we get. My dad doesn't want a cat, we can't get a sugar glider, we can't get a dog because our own dog didn't really like having a puppy around the house, no birds, no ferrets, no guinea pigs, no mice, no reptiles...a bunny is being considered but I am not sure if thats what I want...seriously help me out here, most of my choices were eliminated, what other animals make good house pets?
