Going through recruitment WITHOUT a "rush buddy"?

im a little nervous to go through recruitment because i will be a sophmore and without a "rush buddy" do you think i should try and find another sophomore in my situation? or find some freshman friends? also, will I be left out at anytime for being a sophomore? like during recruitment week?
