Golf: Upright Lie angle: Lower trajectory or right-left ball flight?

Im confused regarding the effect of lie angle on ball flight. Nike Str8-fit implies that changing lie angle from flat to upright will lower trajectory. Titleist implies that changing lie angle from flat to upright will promote a right to left ball flight. Am I missing something? Is there a study done using a robot and launch monitor for these adjustable systems.
